Hey guys, I looked at the raw marks database but it only goes up to an aligned mark of 95 from 82. Can someone tell me what a raw mark of 90 in an average 4u exam would align and scale to (hope you know the difference between the 2 words lol) and how much would it take for a 99 final hsc exam mark?

which database was it? I believe the 2012 one got deleted (which is when the current style of mx2 was introduced), so it's difficult to tell with the scaling for the older papers

but last year my friend got 69 raw, and that went to 90 exact

90 raw would probably get 97. You would need 96-97 to get 99 I reckon.

For extension 2? Thats a bit high dont you reckon? I mean that seems about right for extension 1, not 2.

Why make a thread then question people who give you an answer?

Logic not even once.
I thought a 90 would go to a 98-99 and a few others are telling me 90 goes to 97 like extension 1 so I just wanted to see what other people would say, not that I didnt have a clue what to expect.

For this year, there will be quite a lot of people getting raws of 90+, so it's gonna be harder to get a hsc mark of 99

Oh really? So this years test was considered easy? I heard it was hard.

Can someone link me to the raw marks database v3? I'd be interested to know the 4u aligning also.

This year's test was easy for the students at the very top - there wasn't much to challenge them.

But for the people who belong at around the E4 cutoff it was about the same as usual, perhaps slightly harder.

So I would expect that the raw mark that aligns to 90 would be about the same or a bit lower than last year.
However the raw mark that aligns to say 98 will probably be somewhat higher than last year.

Then again, it is possible they will decide to allow a greater number of marks in the high 90s than usual.
