personally I thought it was quite unusual. The questions in the core, as well as some in biotech were weirdly worded. For example with the pathogens on plants, part B asked about different methods of controlling diseases. Was this in general or in regards to plants? Stupid BOS
Yeah biotech was weird. What did you say in the question about confirming it was DNA

Didn't like that 8-marker. Also hated the two 6-markers in communication... had never specifically studied them :(

DNA confirmed for a white precipitate in the immiscible alcohol layer, globular substance with the texture of mucus.

Hahahah I said eletropherosis, perhaps because it could separate the DNA from other shit :hammer: Probs wasn't the right one though. Nonetheless somebody said all you had to do was put it in water and it would dissolve, thus evidencing that it is DNA. I also thought that the connection between ancient plant biotech and modern ethics was weird. IT was like a question that didn't really have relevance.

Well haha I definitely got that wrong. I talked about extracting DNA from blood and looks like you had to talk about other objects like peas, banana etc. got that completely mixed up.

And the last question was weird I agree. What does domestication have to do with ethical issues ? Made that up completely.

Finally over and finished all exams! Pretty sure I've missed out on Band 6 which sucks but just not thinking about it because I am too tired to be angry.

I would also like to extend sincere thanks and my firstborn child to Ahmad Shah and HSC Online

Phew!!!!!!!!

Was such a good paper, knew pretty much everything and had finished 80% of the paper with over an hour left. Lots of time to proof read answers and make sure they were correct. Hoping for a band 6!

However I drew my accommodation diagrams in the communication part of the exam in pen!!!!!!!!!!! Will I lose a mark for this? What if heaps of people do it? The diagram was optional so why should I lose a mark for something I went out of my way to do :(

Nice questions overall, the stuff I hated wasn't in there. A few of the multiple choice questions were so crap though, I mean question 20 has two right answers... B and D.

wasn't too bad, hoping for 88-95 raw. found that there were quite a few 4 mark questions that i'd have though should be worth 2-3 marks. oh well, reckon i went into enough detail anyway. :)
seems like all the science exams were easy this year.
