How long does it take from Eddy Avenue to UNSW I want to make it to a 9am lecturer tomorrow? Is the traffic bad? I'm giving myself like 25 minutes to get from Eddy to my theatre at colombo.

Get there at around 8-8:15am. The trip is around 20-25min but the bus line will almost certainly be extremely long.

Yeah around that time because all the first years thought 9am lectures were a good idea so they all pack out the place.

Later on in semester, you can get away with 8:30-8:40.

It's only for the first few weeks, after that, as Shadowdude said, 8:30-8:40 is fine.

For the first few weeks of Sem 1 you want to arrive before 8:15 if you want to get to uni before 9. A massive line starts after 8:15. Monday is also the worst day :)

you can just walk to the front, it's not like anyone is going to say anything

Yeah but I've noticed the security people and STA people will tell you to move to the back if they catch you.

Uhh first years and 9am starts. If you are one of them, please do not make the same assumption previous ones have of having to be at uni by 9, even if you don't have a class.
There are other buses such as the 391/393/395 M(something) that go past uni. I usually take those instead during the first week.

There's the M50 and M10 near Town Hall that'll take you to UNSW.

There's 891 Express to UNSW and 372, 376 to Randwick near Prince of Wales hospital (Belmore Rd nr Avoca St) then just walk downhill along High Street, more walking though.

I've noticed the green ticket machines were placed near the queue at a fixed place instead inserting them onto the bus. Is this normal or was just an alternative because of O-Week?

If the 891 queue is too long on Eddy Ave, I'll probably take the one that starts at 891 Railway Square (although not all will start here) or just take an alternative public bus as mentioned by Thief.

Please dip your ticket in those machines, to avoid holding up the line of students walking into the bus. :)

all the 891 buses start at eddy ave

iirc 391/393/395 go to railway sq before eddy ave though
