i can taste the sweet tears of sghgous when he figures out employers can dig into your past. not that hard to figured out if someone dropped out of uni or transferred coz they had shit marks before. i know how to do spooky shit and i know for a fact that employers do have people digging up people's background if they need to.

Well it can also reflect that the individual has persistence and the ability to pick themselves back up.

Bad marks at the begining of a degree generally hurt less than bad marks at the end of the degree (because it shows improvement). However, some organisations cull on marks or whether the person has fails on their transcript, so they may not even get to consider this.

The bottom line is, try throughout your degree.
