No what I'm saying is that the teachers expect you memorise the formulas, but I'm like, "screw that! I wanna know why that works!" But when I ask that question, they give me this perplexed look.
I dont know if this will help you (it probably won't) but the quadratic formula is derived from the equation itself (ax^2 + bx + c = 0). The quadratric equation is obtained when you use the 'completing the square' method on the general equation. That's why it always works. You can try it yourself, complete the square on the general equation! :)

Look into accounting cadetships/UTS BAcc and UNSW Co-op, if you can handle it get a customer based part time job, and try get involved in some leadership/communication extracurriculars at school.
