I don't think so. My best friend is the biggest competition for me. He is in all my classes and we always get top in the class and our results are only different by 1 or 2 marks. We are still close and nice to each other.

this is definitely true if you try and compete with others (i would go crazy competing with everyone else at my school) but it's really good if you're competing against yourself. This way, you'll be able to improve and achieve realistic goals and maybe even end up beating others
