How does it work?
Do they go through all of your preferences and offer you the course if your atar meets the cut off or do they look at your first preference and if it doesn't meet the atar requirements then you'll have to wait till second round? Someone explain please :D

Thanks

it works by like this. I'll type it in code:

...for (x = 1; x <= 9; x++) {
......if (offer for preference x received)
.........if (decline) {
............continue;
..........} else if (accepted) {
.............accept and continue tertiary studies
.............return 0;
..........}
...}
return 0;

they look at the most top preference and move downwards

in other words,

if you dont meet the cutoff for your first preference then they look at your second preference. if you dont meet that cutoff they look at your third... etc, etc. this process happens until you meet a cutoff, which youll be given an offer to in the first round.

however, if you dont meet any cutoffs for your 9 preferences in the first round, you arent going to get an offer til the second round at the earliest.

What if the cutoff for my 1st option is lower than my atar
And they accepted me
Can i still accept that course AND then still receive another offer for my other options?
Cuz i think its safer to accept one first
Then see if u r received any other offer
Than decline the first offer and got none after that

Is it possible?

Once you accept an offer, you will not get any more offers.

im not sure why you guys think you cant receive another offer if you accept the first offer. i know plenty of people that accepted their first round offers, then received 2nd round offers as well.

if you accept your first round offers first preference then change your preferences to have something else as first preference, u can receive offers if u meet the cutoff.
