The guys who second or transfer to Sydney always are shocked by how much harder we work than they expected. I still remember once I had a guy from HK working for me and he said he wouldn't be in the following week because he had booked a holiday. I asked whom he asked permission for to take leave and he said he heard from his friends in HK that he is entitled to additional leave called a "sickie" which no advance permission was required.
