Find dy/dy using implicit differentiation (product rule)

then sub the point (2,1) to obtain the gradient of the tangent

then use the point gradient formula

So the question is asking for a equation of a tangent line. In order to find the equation, we need a point the line passes through and the gradient. We already have the point, we now just need the gradient. In order to find the slope of a tangent at a certain point in a function, we need to find the derivative of that function, but first we must simplify.

y is actually equal to +/- 2/x.
If you're going to do it that way, you need to mention that the given point is on the positive curve and not the negative.
