I'm really struggling at basic algebra and basic geometry! I'm falling behind in my class because they did this last year and i didn't cuz i went to a shitty school. Any tips on improving basics of algebra (fractions, indices, factorising) and Coordinate geometry (i struggle understanding and plotting in equations like perpendicular distance and stuff in a line). Can anyone please give me any tips advices or notes!

Not the school but rather your compatibility with the teacher tbh.

I know this might sound weird but try khanacademy.com, great explanation. Best resource I've ever used, and very quick to learn the simple concepts. Trust me and try it.

So do the beginning chapters of your MIF/Cambridge textbook (Cambridge doesn't have geometry though). That's the only way to get better.

How difficult is maths ex1?
Depends how good you are at Maths already, and how much effort you'll put into the course. At different schools they do Ext. 1 differently, for example my school incorporates Harder Applications of 2U as we do the 2U course, then teach us any 3U stuff on top of that, then we go on to purely Ext. 1 stuff. Other schools dive straight into Permutations and something a rather, so again, its up to how much effort you're willing to put in.

I'd just take Ext.1 anyway, cause you can drop it if you hate it, providing you have enough units.
