Out of interest, how much of Pro Roscio have you completed?
Up to section 69 (hehe), but our teacher's taking a hiatus for trials to do more work on focus areas, since we really only touched on that last year.

How did everyone find the study day?

Yeah, I was going to ask that, as well. I found it very useful, when I attended it last year.

Yeah, it was quite useful to hear a slightly different perspective on the texts - ones that sort of summarised the focus areas and relating them to the material. Although I found the Cicero lecture slightly subpar. Which is bad, because I'm the worst at Pro Roscio haha.

I found the lecture on unseens pretty useful though. :)

Yep the Cicero lecture was a complete waste of time, although he did admit that he knows nothing about the HSC. The other 3 sessions were great.

Does anybody happen to have a copy of the 2014 Cranbrook trial paper? Our teacher gave it to us with one of the questions removed and hinted it would be in our trials (though she said that she expects we can find it online so she must be changing it somewhat).

Sorry, can't find it anywhere. I haven't been able to find ANY latin trials online :/

Speaking of trials, when are everyone's?

Yeah neither have I, although the texts change so frequently there's probably not many which would be helpful

Our trials are in two weeks, we're still on holidays this week though

OMG wut. Ours are next week.

Currently I feel as though I take too much time on the 10 mark questions... or more like I'm not sure how much to write, so I may go overboard. Anyone got any advice?

Also our teacher compiled for us neat practice trials for Continuers and Extension if anyone is interested :]

Good luck if you're still to have them!

Yeah it's pretty hard to judge because it all depends on how long the unseens take - the Board of Studies recommends that the 10 mark questions should be "approximately 400 words" (Assessment and Reporting in Latin Continuers Stage 6) so you definitely want to be writing more than that.

I'd love to see those practice trials even if nobody else is here

Well well well. We just got our continuers trial back haha :p

Just a general question: does anyone here study for latin every day? Our teacher's been grilling us about leaving enough study time for latin.

I don't know, my cohort is very secretive about their marks unfortunately.

Do you still get homework after every latin lesson though?

If anybody is yet to hear, Amores 1.15 is not going to be in the HSC this year - it was listed on the syllabus but not the course prescriptions.

That's strange, I remember studying it in class last year and revising it for final HSC exam... hmmmmmmm

Are you serious? That's strange, considering a lot of trials including mine included it.

BTW how is everyone doing with only ~ 1 week left til both Latin exams?
