Do you mean the redirection itself or the fact that it redirects to the main page? I don't think the redirect itself is avoidable.

It's never been much of a problem for me, I usually tick remember me and dont have to login while using the forum.

Yes sometimes I am reading a thread and log in to post then it just goes to the main page. It's kind of frustrating.
