Just wondering if I could Masterchef as a related text for Discovery. Because there was SOOOO MUUUCHHH of the discovery rubric in in this year's masterchef, especially the finale.

I would read it. At the very least, you'll score in originality Besides, we're in a postmodern age and such, challenge those hegemonic perceived notions of what you can and can't do for your related~

Yeh I'll make sure to do that before deciding whether to choose it.

I highly recommend that you don't use Masterchef as a related text. Markers are looking for texts of literary value, whether that be a contemporary documentary or a classic novel. Reality shows, whilst invariably containing aspects of 'discovery' are not particularly in-depth and a few episodes would not compare with a more advanced text. You also need to consider that rating dictate the progression of the show, the 'development' of the characters/contestents, and what we are shown. I serious would advise against using it.
