I was looking through this stimulus from a 2015 trial paper on page 8 for the creative writing:

annnnnnd I couldn't really decipher what the image was representing. I was thinking that the dismembered face could symbolise the loss of their facade of appearances that hinged on society to define them, but now it's their raw human flaws that have been exposed. I don't know, it seems confusing.

What are your thoughts?

I think it means how people discover themselves when something shit happens, like when your face breaks off

Oh haha, that's an interesting interpretation but I like it!

Any more opinions?

loss of identity / internal moral conflict/ inability to piece together the fragmented memories of a forgotten past / pursuit for finding meanings and truths within oneself and wider society

Well it's basically a poster warning about the dangers of the Internet. I guess you could link it to how the discovery of the truth can often be dangerous or worse than if one is in blissful ignorance or something.

Edit: oh, wrong picture

"Power of a discovery challenges an individual's self-perception"

Just read of this and keep trying to relate it to the image

Notice how his face is ripped off (huehuehue) and his staring into the void that occupies its original position - relate that to a reassessment of oneself

Also notice that the face is dissolving on the outside as it does not line up with the jagged areas of the rest of his face - how the power of discovery can have colossal ramifications, positive or negative, that lead to a reassessment of oneself

Think of some BS along those lines

I think it is of an individual looking back at all the mistakes that they have made, and how much they have changed over the years.

Alternatively, it is a dystopic society, where a bomb has just exploded, and you can see skyscrapers and fire in the background.

Discovery changes us utterly > new perceptions of ourselves - reflect on past experiences with changed eyes
