Hey guys,
I've always wondered but what exactly is the raw mark for a band 4?

Are you serious? That's all you need for an 85? That's really weird to me.
Chemistry aligning brah, maybe abit lower than that though, 68 will probably align to an 83+.

Does that include internal marks or is that completely irrelevant to aligning? (sorry I get so confused by the whole marking process, correct me if I'm wrong)

No aligning is completely different. Aligning refers to the process your raw mark in the HSC exam undergoes. So if you get 63% in the chemistry HSC exam, this 'aligns' to a HSC mark of say 78. Thus, your external HSC mark is 78. What you get internally is determined by your cohort's performance and your ranking.
