Are the camps really as good as everyone says they are?? I got so much crap to do and have a camp from friday to sunday, so pretty much all my spare time gone.

So I'm freaking out how to get this work done, and it would have been a good week to start my assignments as well...

Was thinking about asking for refund for camp, but everyone I talk to says "don't miss the camp" and how I'll regret it if I do...

Just a large drinking fest, the odd hookup and more drinking. Even if you don't drink, you should go just for the people you'll meet.

How long do you guys sleep for? I don't get how people stay awake with less than 10 hours of sleep.

My Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday is typically sleep at 11:30pm Tuesday, get up 6:30am Wednesday, then sleep at 2am Thursday, wake up 9:30am Thursday. Only have class on Wednesday and Thursday.

It says don't bring alcohol. So will the camp leaders be supplying large amounts of alcohol or do people usually sneak it in?

There's no security check or bag check or anything like that.

To Flop21, just bring alcohol and learn to deal with situations regarding alcohol - as long as everyone behaves sensibly then it's fine.

lol tbh what i really meant was that there's no fighting going on.

People can get all drunk and passed out for all they want, as long as they don't cause harm to others. That said I would want people to assist and feed water to those in need, and I have faith that people here will do so.

So, I've found good ways to make use of train time.

Best use is watching lectures. It's no different if you watch at home or on the train.
Then, it's followed by light reading if lectures aren't available.


It's too inefficient to perform other tasks on the train.

There's always plenty of alcohol at the CSE first year camp, supplied by the society :> There's a dance party on the second night and that's when people get sloshed on said alcohol

(source: was an attendee one year & then camp leader the next year)
