Wow I was not aware of this dot point..anyone got notes on this one?

Help

A research claims that it has found a new form of nuclear radiation never before observed the laboratory reports that this new form of radiation has the following properties:
1. Can penetrate more than 3 metres f concrete
2. Has moderate ionising power
3. Is deflected by a magnetic field
4. Is deflected by an electric field

Discuss whether this new particle is a form of electromagnetic radiation or particle. Give your reasoning clearly (3 marks)

It's a beta particle due to its medium ionising power. This is further proven as it is deflected by both the magnetic and electric fields so it must consist of charge particles (+2 which is equivalent to helium nucleus).

A car of mass 1000kg travelling at 15ms^-1 accelerates to 20ms^-1 in 4 seconds. Calculate the resultant force required to do this.

A wire of length 80cm and cross sectional area of 1.2 times 10^-4 m^2 has a resistance of 10 ohms at 25 degrees celcius. Determine the change in resistance if the radius is changed to 5mm

Use the fact that the resistance is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area (along with the formula for the area of a circle, assuming the wire's cross section is circular).

hey, I have a question:

As a result of being hit from behind by a toy truck, a 500g toycar, initially at rest, rolls 12.0m across a floor that applies a constant retarding force of 1.2N to it. The car stops 2.0s after being hit. If the truck was in contact with the car for 0.12s calculate the impulse given to the car.
