Group studying is not helpful at all regardless of the subject- you're more than likely going to get distracted and waste time. Anyway everyone has their specific areas they need to focus, maybe work with one other person if you/they really need help.
Group study is super effective if you do it with the right people. Since trials, i've been studying with the top 4 in physics and we've been smashing out past papers like crazy.
