How fast do yall write in terms of characters per minute?

For my common mod, mainly because I've memorised, I'm managing about 190 characters per minute (but because average word length is 6.5 excluding spaces, it translates to about 29 words per min)

I know it's pretty much common sense at this point, but for me, the 2 main issues with worrying about not writing enough and then trying to write too much is that 1) You want to write less but quality than more but not quality and 2) In an attempt to write more words (which ultimately means you have to write faster), there is a big chance your writing may be ineligible. In that case, markers may not be as lenient with your papers if they can't understand what you are trying to say. Honestly, 29 per minute is more than enough because if you are writing for 40 minutes, than it comes to a bit under 1.2k words.

I feel you lol. But at least we won’t have to do English ever again after the 10th November, which is only 14 days way now haha.

So how are you doing in all your other subjects? Also why’s your HSC set to 2017 lol 😂
Great. Idk i randomly choose 2017.

Wbu? Oh you have IPT unlucky haha. It's always the last exam.

This is true, and from what the consensus is, markers be skim reading anyway, so theres no point absolutely sweating every word written, especially in like the 3rd body para. So going quality in intro, 1st and 2nd para should be enough for a mark carry tbh

Yeah the intro is super important. By the time the marker finishes reading your intro they already have a rough idea of what band to put you in.

29 wpm is very decent. I had a look at some past essays/long responses and I averaged to like 27 or 28 wpm. max I could do is 30 wpm for the mod A essays but I could feel my hand falling off as I wrote, ofc I worked on things like how I gripped my pen or positioned my wrist in order to deal with that but still, so painful and so hieroglyphic

some of y'all built diff

ah ha, but seeing as youre 99.6, i assume each of those 27-28 wpm is actually average word length of like 7 letters xD
