I am doing IPT remotely, This means no in-person teaching and am really struggling to learn the content aswell as stay interested. It is so very boring to be honest but I'm to late to drop it. Anyone dealt with this and got any advice? Ive had a look at some of the notes here and whilst we have covered this in "Class" I would not be able to pass a test. Thanks in advance

hi! im currently in y11 and do both ipt accelerated and eco

ipt atm is not going well for me.. realistically predicting a 85-87 since my internals r kinda low

i do have 9 units chosen going into y12 not including ipt's 2 units but im conflicted on if i should instead pick eco for y12 and make it 11 units (not inc ipt) since my ipt score is lower than i expected

should i pick eco or risk it with ipt? my feelings for eco r mutual and my marks r sort of mid-high ranking wise, but it seems dumb not picking ipt since its basically helping w my workload in y12, also heard eco is rly content heavy and i really dont want to spend a lot of my time on it
I think that deciding to drop IPT based on a prediction of an unfavourable HSC result is questionable. First, you have not yet sat your IPT HSC exam, so a decision to drop the subject prematurely is not an informed one. At the same time, dropping IPT would mean that all your efforts directed towards this subject throughout this year would go to waste, with no confirmation that your overall performance in the subject was not at the standard that you were aiming for, because you would not have sat the subject's HSC exam in such a case. Further, your prediction is not far from a band 6. Assuming that you are not accelerating any other subjects, this means that you can shift your entire focus to your IPT HSC exam. If you prepare thoroughly for it, which includes addressing areas of improvement, you can definitely achieve 90+ as your overall HSC mark.

Your final result in IPT can then help you decide whether to keep or drop Economics. Keep in mind that you do not necessarily need to drop Economics in year 11 as you can still drop it in year 12. This would also give you a chance to experience the Economics HSC course. This, alongside considering your ability to effectively manage its workload as well as that of your other subjects, will allow you to make a more informed decision of whether to keep or drop Economics.

I hope this helps! 😄
