Thank you, so far I've been going well but trials are gonna be hard for me. can you recommend any specific study resources for subjects like math, physics and bio?

I am sorry but i dont do any science and I only do adv for maths, but for maths u can do as much past papers as u can on this site and try to ask teachers with the very confusing ones,Eddie Woo(a youtuber)is a good maths teacher as well. Idk if you have access to a website called atomi but if so it is a good source as well.
For science subjects, according to my friends, they say you just need to buy and do excel exercises(actually u can go to local library to see if they have it or not)
-Bio(i dropped it but i will tell u my tips...idk if it will work for u haha) you might wanna check out amoeba sisters and crashed course, and try to find those concise notes online and go through them yourself, as I mentioned go ask the teachers with the questions you are not sure how to do, or just post it here i think there are good folks will help you

BTW i saw u were trying to find tutors, that's a good choice for STEM subjects. From my experience, I highly recommend you attend 1 on 1 tutoring instead of group sessions.Because they will be much more specialised on ur needs instead of covering everything you have alr known or leave u behind.

yes, I have no teachers that are specialised In the subject either they're all casual lol

I will be more happy to get a 90+but 85 will send me to the degree I wanna do and it's in UNSW (honour degree)so dont even mention 85 for mq haha

Dont really know sorry cuz i dont do science but i reckon private tutoring with teachers who teach that subject or uni students who are doing relavant subjects/major should be better

i’m aiming for like a 90+ but on this forum it seems like everyone’s aiming higher haha, (jus have low expectations cause of my school)

my school actually has a decent rank around 60 and everyone always gets something over 85
but I just dont see the point i need to be extra hardworking for a 99+ atar when I just need a 80 atar for uni lol
I even did an "unexpected situation plus with 5 marks so 80 to 85" saying if there are too many competitors lol(which is impossible cuz nobody knows what urban planning is lol)

I go to a pretty small, low-ranked regional school LOL so I'm trying not to create unattainable expectations for myself.... the course I'm leaning towards only needs an 86

never said u have to sweat lol i just said aim. ik many ppl whove easily gotten 95-96 with decent study. Mindless 10 hrs of study =/ good study. I said 99 just for motivation, realistically I'd say do nothing because of atar schemes for lower ranked schools.

I agree, there's no point going way beyond what your course requires because at the end of the day it's not gonna be of much use, unless you're trying to secure a scholarship, then in that case it'd be worth it.

But at the same time, you shouldn't aim for what your course exactly requires, if your course requires an 86 ATAR, aim for a 91-92 ATAR, just in case there happens to be some issues that arise later on in the year (such as poor exam performance, etc) which can be accounted for.

I get where ur coming from bc i went to a similar type of school, low ranked, but i highly encourage u to aim higher esp with ur combo. Try going for 95 ull surprise urself.

Don't believe ppl here acting like u need to go into deep meditation and lock urself inside the deepest crater in australia and grind mx2 for a decent atar. You just need consistency, motivation and planning and you can def balance study life and whatever you want to do. Don't aim for the very bare minimum.

If u want help feel free to PM bc i have experience going to a low ranked school and i can share what i did. But in general, I'd advise certain things:

1. Be top in all your subjects or near the top rank (This will help you not get fkd by moderation given your cohorts not as good)
2. Use self-study resources and utilise your free periods to study as opposed to only studying in home.
3. Try to be at minimum 1 week ahead of your class content, it'll make learning more easier and will give you more time to breath.
4. Try to get as much tutoring/textbook resources you can for grinding practice questions for maths or science e.g dr du booklets, terry lee
