wdym? you have two roots, you need two more. You have (abcd being roots): a+b+c+d = 1 add abcd = -30, you have a and b given so you have 2 equations and 2 variables

i) was just conjugate root theorem
ii) was sum and product with the two unknown roots as alpha and beta then solve
Iirc it was -3,2 as solutions

Iirc it was -3,2 as solutions

no fucking way it was, my working for that involved none of that...

i just did the conjugate factor thing

with the 2 - i roots i did

z^2 - 2Re(z) +|z|^2

which gave

(z^2 - 4z + 5)
i then did a factor by inspection and got
(z^2 - 4z + 5)(z^2 - z- 6)

somehow i completely ignored all those variable coefficients in the polynomial and pulled it off

that exam was alright, definitely harder than 2021 and close to 2022 though

im annoyed at myself because I made a silly mistake on that sphere question and possibly the locus question at the end as well but I feel decently alright about every other question (finished with just over 20 minutes left so didn’t have time to check tons but there was still enough time) so we’ll see

im annoyed at myself because I made a silly mistake on that sphere question and possibly the locus question at the end as well but I feel decently alright about every other question (finished with just over 20 minutes left so didn’t have time to check tons but there was still enough time) so we’ll see
