depends how long you have to do it

for internal assessments if you have a short time limit - about 800-1000 words

for trials and hsc you should split the paper so you have close to 1 hour to do both the extended responses - so about 1200 words here

btw you can still get full marks with anything over 700 words i think

its not a matter of words, just focus on the quality of ur report
