guilttrip the school?
nah they'll find you a way to do physics like moving schools or doing it outside of school but its like stereotypically tafe is for ppl who don't wanna get an ATAR so they wouldn't think of it as an efficient way they'll probs do cluster classes or things like that

why would I do it if my school already offers physics 💀
TAFE or SDEHS are just alternatives if you rly wanna do physics (or some other subject) and are unable to cuz of ur school

You've quite clearly got to take what I'm saying with a grain of salt considering I did something incredibly close to Asian 5 and still did physics in year 11 -> the only reason I didn't do unmodified A5 in year 12 is the only physics teacher went on maternity leave 🤷‍♂️. The key take away from my comment was to say that the idea that Asian 5 is the only way to do well - which is an idea commonly pushed forward on this forum, on conquerhsc, and in all the other atarmaxxing groups - is not true and you shouldn't be clouded by it. The reason I claimed A5'ers are boring is because the vast majority of them are selective school students who are doing the courses not out of some passion for their future careers but rather because their school, tutors and parents tell them that it is the only way they will succeed. Anecdotally, most A5ers tend to go into one of a few disciplines in uni; engineering, computer science, medicine or actuarial studies. If these students are passionate about these careers, why - other than the scaling fearmongering - arent they choosing subjects like engineering studies, sdd/ipt, biology, and economics/business studies respectively? You claim that "Not many people care about scaling", but what you'll see when you network with people in year 12 is that the vast majority of A5'ers are doing the subjects for that exact reason! Which results in everyone in these circles doing the same boring stuff rather than things they actually enjoy.
Say you are correct that most Year 12's think better scaling subjects is the way to go, and therefore doing those 5 subjects, but at what point does that give you the right to call them/ a specfic group of them boring? Did you avoid the line between 'boring' and 'interesting' just by picking modern history? or did you develop this ideal when others chose what you havent? Most selective school students deserve to be there, and they have the brain to know what they want/ would be better for them to pick. Theoretically, they may not pick engineering as they really do think that the five subject would be more beneficial to them then engineering studies which, wouldn't you say, it a valid reason! Still can't see where you earned the right to judge selective students doing A5 for a high atar/ better scaling although they could do something they may be more passionate about. Although it may be their teachers, tutors and school who tell them this, who are they to know better? That's what they were taught, that's what they know, that's what they trust. Calling someone 'boring' for their subject pick? Genuinely pathetic

You prob shouldn’t be picking your subjects from just scaling but ok.
You take the HSC course via TAFE, however, you still sit the HSC and hence, still get a HSC mark.
So... I ended up asking my DP about this... she said that it only applies for subjects the school doesn't offer at all.:C
