Idk what Im doing wrong I dont understanding why its so hard for me to get in the A range 😭😭 for short answers. heres a example of mine below

How does text 2 challenge the responder to reflect on gaps in cultural understanding? (3 Marks)

Text 2 effectively explores the idea of the passage of time, through the recounting of the persona’s past memories, calling upon the responder to reflect on the miscommunication in cultural understanding between others. The persona firstly establishes the forthcoming of past cultural memories through the first person pronouns ‘I’ to establish a connection with the responder, before immediately disorientating them with the enjambment ‘the longest bridge and the shortest history - thats what I learnt’ to reinforce the fact that the persona has limited cultural understanding. This is further reinforced through the conceptual metaphor ‘Bridge over the River Memory’, the idea of a bridge symbolizing the path or connection to the persona’s past and present viewpoints on life, suggesting that if ‘the bridge is short now’, the persona has gaps in his cultural knowledge and understanding, therefore effectively challenging the responder to discern these gaps in knowledge in the persona.

Can someone give me feedback on what im doing wrong here (I know you cant really without reading the poem but general feedback) thats limiting me from getting an A. Is it because of not enough analysis? linking? not cohesive enough? expression issues? doesnt make sense? idkk 😭 I need to improve and I want to going into year 12 and im concerned

Thankss

Your analysis of how Text 2 challenges the responder to reflect on gaps in cultural understanding is insightful, but there are several areas where you could enhance your response:

Your argument could benefit from clearer topic sentences and transitions. Consider starting each point with a strong topic sentence that directly relates to how the text challenges cultural understanding. While you mention enjambment and metaphor, delve deeper into how these devices specifically affect the responder's perception. For example, explain how the enjambment might create a sense of urgency or confusion, prompting the responder to reflect on the persona's fragmented understanding. When you quote the metaphor “Bridge over the River Memory,” provide a bit more context about its significance. You might explore how the metaphor not only indicates gaps but also suggests the persona's desire to bridge those gaps, fostering a deeper reflection for the responder. Consider discussing how the persona's cultural gaps might resonate with wider societal issues of understanding and connection. This would elevate your analysis and encourage the responder to think beyond the text itself. Wrap up your response with a brief conclusion that reiterates how these elements collectively challenge the responder to examine their own cultural understandings.

Yes but take all of these factors into account and make this into one short and concise paragraph. In the HSC they will be more lenient as you are on time constraints, and they will understand the pressure of the exam. But with some practice, you'll surely get A's if you put in the effort. Best of luck 👍

Why, English no matter what counts towards your star. You have to do well in English if you want a good atar.
fair enough, but if their passions lie in other subjects and they're good at them and can get their desired atar, then who gives a shit. I am pretty good at english but I also dislike it too.

You don't have to like it, just be good at it lol. Not even good just decent, and if he wants A's for his responses clearly he is looking to be a high achiever
