Hello, may I get an ATAR estimate please? Ideally my goal is 90 (not sure if this is attainable or not) but I need 70+ to get into my course.

The only subject I’m certain I can get band 6 in is Jpn Cont as our cohort is pretty strong. But for the other subjects I don't really know where I sit. Any advice on what subjects to focus on to make the most impact would also be appreciated, thank you

School ranking: 60 - 90

SubjectTrial MarkTrial AverageRankingNo.band 6s in subject (2023)
Biology85%68%18/10116
Japanese Continuers96%87%7/215
Japanese Extension90%82%5/102
Software Design and Development83%62%6/284
English Advanced77%70%55/21224
Maths Advanced 73% 64% (55% for Advanced only)77/163 48

@jimmysmith560 I saw your insightful answers towards others, so if you have time, could you help please?

Given this information, you seem to be on track with an ATAR in the high 80s to low 90s range. More specifically, that would be an ATAR between 86 and 90.5.

Your performance in Biology, Japanese Continuers and Software Design and Development is favourable and will likely result in positive contributions to your ATAR from these subjects. As such, you should continue to prepare for their HSC exam to the best of your ability, allowing you to address any areas of improvement and maintain favourable overall performance.

The same can be suggested, although to a slightly lesser extent, regarding your performance in Mathematics Advanced. This means that there is more room for improvement in this subject compared to the above subjects. It would therefore be good to allocate additional study time towards this subject, allowing you to address areas of improvement and have a better chance of performing well in its HSC exam.

On the other hand, Japanese Extension and English Advanced appear to be your lowest-performing subjects, especially the latter. These subjects are where there may be the largest room for improvement, because of which you may wish to consider placing greater emphasis on your preparations for their HSC exam. Doing so will help you ensure favourable overall performance and ultimately increase your chances of a higher ATAR.

I hope this helps! :D
