Study Schedule for current students (2 Viewers)

Hi all, I'm currently about to transition from a terrible year 11 to a hopefully better year 12. I would like to know what the current yr 12s or past yr 12s study routines have been like throughout the entire year. So from term 1 up onto hsc. Like from what time to what time would u study (including week/school days and weekends) and which subjects u would do do.

Also in the massive break from term 1 yr 12 to term 2 year 12, what was your routine and schedule and how did u go with content and if u finished it or not? (i need time and days mainly lol as a routine)

As well as how you are doing currently, with only like i'd say a week with hsc left, how do u prepare and when and what?

Also any study tips/tricks would be great i still haven't figured out what suits me best. Also I'm aware motivation is useless long term and its better to be consistent but i struggle with consistency so bad so if anyone can give any tips on that too that would be greatly appreciated.

(My subjects are bio, legal, chem, math (i did adv yr 11 but i wasn't getting great marks so at the end of the year11, I switched to standard 2), Eng. adv)

Always make the most of class time and pay attention, saves you time at home and better to ask questions and struggle in class with a teacher than at home.

Ive never been rigorous like set times to study, i feel shit if i dont do everything i said i would at this exact time. But i do like to write a calendar and say ok today im going to do English and legal, tomorrow i will do science and multimedia, stuff like that. TBH i only do the calendar thing leading up to exams, in middle of term its doing what i have to do for assessments and keeping on top of content.

Study tips - flashcards are the best especially for legal and english quotes. As a legal kid i say always keep up with content as best u can, its so shit for this subject if you are weeks behind, like stuff happens in life and if thats it for you, copy the slides, media articles etc into Chat GPT and ask it to summarise for you - so much quicker! but then i would say handwrite it out to retain it as u likely will need it for tests.

Adding on -
legal best way to study is knowing your LCDMI and as long as thats in your essays you are gaining marks, and when its evaluating say WHY something is effective or not, dont just plop it in and say "this bail law reform was ineffective" ok why is that? mostly say if it balances rights of community/offender/victim or if it achieves justice or not.
timing yourself doing essay plans is great too, sit down with a crime or options question for 5 minutes and write down what is in each body para, what you know, do open book, timed then try to do closed, not timed then closed timed.

Christmas break i worked on ideas for major project mostly, didnt honestly do heaps like def have a break its your last proper break for the rest of hsc. I did do legal human rights summaries which saved me SO MUCH for half yearly and trials - so recommend that too.

Thank you for this it did help, but how did u study after school? i personally leave at 7am and come home around 5pm due to my travel time, im not really used to this yet because i recently switched schools and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to manage time without waking up tired the next day, so how would u manage daily studying. But ty for the legal tips very helpful ill be sure to use them

I just try and lock in at school and tutoring and don't really do anything once I get home

Start writing generic essays for your texts asap and give them in for teacher feedback

yea but you really have to focus at school and try and fit in homework and papers and stuff when you arent doing much in class or when you think what ur doing in class is useless.

Flashcards, i like the process of making them up, you can do that after school, sucks such a long travel time but good to do a bit when you can. i like playing with the highlighters and good practice to summarise content in a flashcard so you understand it as you go. reviewing them, i mostly do it a week before the exam like every day and go through them a few times. ideally you could do them during term too but not as much pressure then, i do procrastinate like a lot of people. also get people to test you, eg they say the term and you have to do the definition or other way round. (or English - they say quote and technique, you say analysis, Legal - name of law or media then key points and judgement)
NP with the legal tips, thats for sure what i liked best.
