i didnt talk abt tech
I didn't talk about the new inventions, I talked about the inconvenient aspect of it and how people live that out

I talked about how I take too much pride in my memory and the overall theme, then I had an anecdote of my time with my grandmother with alzhimers and how I wish id been more convenient in my "time saving" methods and systems nad wrote things down or used lists to better remember her and then I talked about how my grandad instead of letting the doctors take care of her, he insisted that he do it all so once again convenience aspect and then I said that after watching him I dotn think it would be good to live a less convenient life, and finally I made a caveat to how I live less conveniently to keep an aspect of my identity alive and so that might have been what my grandad was doing with my grandmother and I closed It off with the motif of a film camera

HOWEVER
I am concerned after reading what u lot did that maybe I missed the point

I focused on how human ideals have shifted, especially after and during covid, from extravagant city lifestyles to more regional, simple living. I spoke about Tolkien's conceptualisation of the Shire as an idyllic place, and referenced his interviews and letters (since I read a bunch of them AND to get my LOTR reference in) and also spoke about how it is inherently human to prefer handcrafted objects that have an unique emotional connection behind them, rather than mass produced 'convenient' items.

Showed the other perspective by going into whether ordinary people would actually give up the everyday luxuries and conveniences of modern day life to go 'back to the basics'.

Went off on a couple tangents, but hey, that's a discursive technique.

I did autism where the ‘time-saving technology’ is masking your behaviour and the simplicity is ‘being yourself’, a little more metaphorical I think so hopefully it worked
