From recent data, the median annual salary in Australia is about $65k whereas the average annual salary is about $98k (so obviously skewed by outlier high income earners). This is all before income tax and across all age groups (i.e. including experienced workers).

For reference, for a typical graduate job (out of university) the annual salary is roughly $60k-$70k.

It's a pretty well known societal issue that someone with a median annual salary would struggle to afford a house at the median price.
oh sorry, maybe i mixed up median and average salary for minimum wage, i guess the stats bit in math adv didn't rub off on me.

See

Median weekly earnings were $1,300.00 for all employees

That's because everyone lives in their own bubble, so naturally everyone has a skewed perspective of the world based on anecdotal evidence rather than actual statistical evidence. It is important to acknowledge that the sample of people in your bubble is not necessarily a good representation of the entire population (i.e. Stats 101).

No but this is the median saley in the WHOLE of australia. Sydney’s median shiuld be pretty high compared to other states so median of 90k/person sounds about right
