do we need to know precip titration like mohr and volhard?
u need to know main principles of precipitation titration (normally using silver, using an indicator with a higher solubility than the precipitate formed, etc) but since the syllabus doesn't specify, you don't technically need to know specific methods for precipitation titrations

better safe than sorry tho ofc

could u send solutions plss
a) [HCO3 - ] =3.10·10^-3 M , [CO3 2- ] = 1.46·10^-7 M

b) 2UCl3 + 4H2O → 2UO2 + 6H+ + 6Cl– + H2

c) UO2(CO3 )3 4- and U4O9 (s) can coexist between these pH values because their stability regions share a boundary (along which the two species can coexist). UO2(CO3)3 4- and UO2 (s) cannot coexist for the same reason.

Pretty simple really if you actually try it. a) is straight out of mod 5 and 6, b) is a bit of logic and a bit of mod 3 redox, and c) is just logic from diagram

thats makes sense lmao, thats why bio was so easy this year, lets hope 😭
controversial but i wouldn't say bio was easy easy this yr, I think it was one of those tests where they're gonna mark for specifics that people might of missed for questions that seem relatively easy on the surface but want reference to specific things (like the CFTR question), especially since there was quite a decent number of graphs for higher mark questions yk?

but still i rlly rlly hope chem is good this year I'm actually terrified they're gonna put some insanely hard question in the 30s that I won't even be able to solve even tho I'm good w the content and normal calculations😭

All we can do now is try our best. Think about it, if its a easier test you should go through it slowly (still finish in 3 hours) and make sure you don't make many silly mistakes while being overhyped that the exam is easy. If the test is hard, then its gonna be hard for others as well, so the alignment will be fine as well. So. Just lets try our best. :)

yeah true, I'm hoping there's time for me to plan out some of my responses for some of the chunkier theory questions bc I'm actually so uncohesive if I don't think about the way I'm phrasing things lmaoo but who knows ig

what is the probability that they'll ask us a long Mod 8 anion/cation testing question this year..... I do not think I will be good at gambling but I cannot absorb the solubility table for the life of me.

Atp im just relying on the Ksp table. Whatever is on it is insoluble lol.

Could be but tbh idk how they can make the question very long and for a lot of marks. I reckon the long response questions this year maybe on soaps or instead of long response, they could just give us a long calc.

nahh my memories good for everything except solubility rules its so annoying, honestly I doubt they'd put a rlly long ion ID thing but they hypothetically could I suppose, we had to draw a flow chart for trials + explain why it identifies 3 ions which was about 5 marks. I feel like they wouldn't do a soaps long response since realistically it's only like 5 marks of info tops even if they get you to compare soap vs a specific detergent. if they were gonna pick a content heavy long response id say its either asking you to compare LDPE and HDPE tho or comparing addition polymers and condensation polymers OR maybe impacts of hydrocarbons/discuss use of biofuels

Please no! Just no :( Genuinely hate this waffle

LDPE and HDPE tho or comparing addition polymers and condensation polymers
They could ask for comparison between addition and condensation and then an example each and maybe its uses, probably like 7 marks

Does anyone know if we need to know the theories behind colourimetry, UV-Vis, AAS, mass spec, IR and NMR? The theory are pretty physics heavy so idk if they can get you to explain how the machine works, so would it be more like application and some multi questions?
