  • I'm probably going to do Government and International Relations, Socio-Legal Studies (or Sociology, once I figure out the difference between them), and maybe Political Economy? Or Psychology. Major will be Government though.
Probably doing Arts/Law. What are you doing again? :p
Adrienne Cohen sounds familiar, but I probably didn't meet them or anything.
    Hey,
You seem to have a very strong understanding/knowledge of philosophy and I understand you did the distinction course.
Would you be able to recommend some interesteing books that you've read on the subject?

Thankyou & congratulations on your amazing results!
    Wendy :D

Ah no worries. I figured that you were busy :p
I'm sure you did all that you could and that your hard work will pay dividends :D

Hehe i'll read that email now ^_^

I <3 you too; you are such an awesome person!
Oh yes, I apologise for invading your profile too. :p

And wow this is completely insane. We share a lot of interests! I was looking to do international relations because of its course description - UNSW Handbook Specialisation - International Relations. Also check out the descriptions for the individual courses under this major. Quite amazing. :) I was looking forward to perhaps working in areas of global health under... you guessed it, the United Nations!
As for your aspirations in becoming a student overseas, I hear US colleges are huge on personal statements and that sort of thing, so I've little doubt that you have a great shot at making it into somewhere as prestigious as an Ivy League university.

Though if you did, and if you got into some Oxford program, which would you choose? The US, Oxford or USYD? I'm not well-versed in the overlap between our legal system and that of the US and Great Britain, but what do you see yourself becoming in the future?
Thanks for that heads up about those unis offering scholarships to people like me, though first I think I'd be more concerned in actually completing my MBBS well and truly, and then becoming an intern. =P

Bit of a dilemma facing me at the moment is what to major in for my arts degree. I know that I want to minor in Chinese studies - that's no issue for me now. But there are so many things that interest me at the moment, from economics to English, to history, to philosophy, to international relations. It appears that economics and international relations might have the most relevance to medicine in the future, as might philosophy (with bioethics, questions of justice and the development of world views). You've done philosophy at a university level - tell me what it's like!
Oh cool! So if all ends well you'll be doing law at Oxford? That's completely amazing. I'm not quite sure what you meant by "second degree" though - care to explain? :p I'm a complete noob at these things because I never even really considered studying overseas.
I didn't get a merit scholarship. I was reserve listed, so I might get an offer after the 20th.

Happy new year back to you too :)
Hi Wendy. Just thought I'd drop by and congratulate a random stranger on her richly deserved results. :) What are you looking to do in the future?
Lol. Thanks, I really like it :D

umm I heard nothing about a USyd breakfast, perhaps it's only 99.95ers
I'm doing Law. Not sure aobut the double degree yet, could be Arts (or any derivative thereof), or Commerce.
Yeah, look out for Thomas Nguyen. I'll look out for Wendy C? [Don't wanna reveal your name]
