    HSC Extension English scaling

They only scale it after it's been combined with your moderated internal mark (I think), so depending on your rank, the overall mark could go up or down before it's scaled. I'm not too sure about how well it scales though.

What is 'Dux'?? and how does it it work??

The person who got Dux last year at my school got first in all her subjects, so using my powers of deductive reasoning I'm guessing that they base it on internal ranks.

    Anyone else think...

Hey this is quite random, but is Arts/Laws fun/boring/hard? I wanted to put it down as a preference but heard it's quite tedious on another thread, so just wondering :)

    Anyone else think...

While they are reflecting the values, if you know the values well, they are in a sense challenging established ideas. For example, Shelley questions the morality of scientific rationalization overruling nature, and since science and industry was the status quo or zeitgeist of the Industrial Age...

    Incomplete Combustion

Not necessarily always, depends on the reactants. Some only produce CO and H2O or C and H2O, and others can include CO2 as part of their products. I've never come across any incomplete ones that also produce CO2 along with CO or C.

How difficult is it to get an E4?

Or maybe even 45+ in this subject? I'm looking back at my story and there are some errors that make me want to repeatedly hit my head on a stone wall. My story is not postmodern or nihilistic or an evaluation of how useless life is but it's quite simple and with a happy, hopeful ending. One...

    Hamlet. Where to start?

Blackberrystone said it all. Just keep in mind that a lot of the time, questions refer to specific themes like honour or love but that doesn't mean you need to have used these themes in your pre-prepared essay. You use honour as a metaphor or as the undercurrent of the theme you are already...

    What are you currently Reading?

Just finished 'A Thousand Splendid Suns', about to start 'A Tale of Two Cities' :D

    Cation/anion analysis?

How specifically do we need to do the different ways of analysis? Do we need to know the colours of flame tests and whether specific mixtures of solutions are soluble or insoluble? Thankyou!

    Confused

http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=6642 ^ cleared everything up for me quite well. but i'm unsure of how the HSC marks scale, whether it is dependent on rank or just general scaling.
