What sort of mark do you need to study abroad?

HD! Friends with distinction didn't get in

What can you do if you get into an amazing university overseas but can't afford it?

Re: What can you do if you get into an amazing university overseas but can't afford i Some universities offer full scholarships to students, there are some government scholarships as well (but these are even harder to get haha). I know parents who sell their property so their kids will be...

    Shoutbox?

Probably depends? (: I mean people who need immediate answers/advise could probably find the chatbox useful and if their questions are not answered, they could post a thread. Really depends on their intention :P Probably for people looking for more serious advice (which requires much thinking)...

    Good double degree in Law?

Quite a few of my friends do Commerce-Law. Not sure if super useful though (: Probably depends on the field you are interested in upon graduating?

What to do if my Unit is running horribly?

Tbh, quite a few courses are like that and some professors are in universities mainly cause of research and not teaching (but they are made to teach). You could try to 'report' your experiences but I doubt there would be any difference, especially if the course has been there for some time. It...

    AAA scholarship

You received the scholarship pretty late (Normally people receive it in Jan and get paid in March). For all my scholarship offers, I was sent a scholarship offer letter (on UNSW scholarships). Go to your submitted applications and click view offer letter. They will then ask whether you want to...

Need to know how to study...

Ooo biomedical science. You have to find your own niche! It took me over a year to realise how to make effective notes and it was annoying. I write lecture notes out as I said earlier. But for anatomy (which is 100% horrid) - I draw diagrams out/just write on my lecture notes and revise it...

"Students who complete the Diploma can articulate into the Bachelor Degree"??

Articulating means moving into the degree! Depending on the University and degree, this may take 1-2 years off your Bachelor degree (as you already have relevant experience). As BLIT said, calling the Uni/College/JMC admission office is a great idea.

Need to know how to study...

Have you tried to talk to course mates/seniors who can share study tips with you?

    First Impressions of Uni

Tbh though, I feel a large proportion of the Asians are international. 9/10 rows of people I walk past in the UNSW main walkway sound like they are from mainland china

    accepting a scholarship

hey! I recently got two scholarships myself, and it depends on 1) whether you fulfil all the conditions 2) when the payments are said to be made. Important thing to note is that if you want the scholarship to appear in your transcript, you have to email them about it.

Need to know how to study...

I do that yeah. I make sure when i'm making notes I fulfil the objectives. Also lectures sometimes have objectives as well- I make sure my notes cover them too. Subject outlines also ensure you have an organised set of notes.

Need to know how to study...

I find it really helps to get 'mini distracted' when I do work, till I find my motivation to just study hard. For example, hop on BOS then hope back to write a paragraph and come back on. Alternatively, I study with a friend in the library or use adblock :P

Need to know how to study...

I use a really general layout in word. Heading 1 for the course and heading 2 for the lecture. Yes I make my own notes at home/after lectures and they are kinda pretty, but mainly organised. It takes a while since Med is really content heavy. But if you are doing Math/less wordy subjects, I...

Need to know how to study...

I do: 1. Read lecture slides and readings before lectures and after lectures 2. Make notes during lectures 3. Make own notes and ensure I understand whatever is being taught in lecture/class 4. Refer to textbook/consult course mates if unsure

Would a career in Paramedics be worth it?

My friend really enjoyed his paramedics course, but now as a full time paramedic it is kind of stressful. Sometimes a life and death situation. It is a noble job but an extremely stressful one

Do you regret going/not going to Uni ?

Going slightly off topic here but I think it is kinda scary ): Like in high school, getting into a degree meant everything to my friends and I. But now when we in a degree, we realise the hard thing is graduating and finding a job- as there's so many of us now ):

Year 12 2016 Student Question (Getting into Medicine GAMSAT)

Alternatively, you can start studying your tertiary degree and in your first year do the UMAT and try enter to UNSW.

    WAM after uni graduation

WAM is important, but it is just as important to show you have been involved in a related field. For example, when applying for engineering internships, they ask you to attach your academic transcript and talk about your leadership and community involvement. In Med they tell us, a 50 WAM is a...

Medicine at UNSW or Newcastle JMP

Tbh, I think this discussion has reached a standpoint where everyone is going on and on about the same things. If you have any questions PM me instead of pursuing it on a 2 week old reply. Strange how you mentioned how 'not a point worth pursuing' was one you pursued as well. Clearly to begin...
