General questions about engineering Please help!!

You'll still do just fine with only 3U :) 4U helps, that's all. If you were really worried about it you can have a look at those 4U topics.

So what are you guys playing at the moment?

Before I went back to uni I played Bioshock Infinite. It was beautiful. Shame I get sick after playing FPSes for some period of time. :( Definitely worth it though, probably going to replay it so I can admire it more.

Previous knowledge for a Computer Science degree

Like others have said, no, no previous experience is required. It will definitely help, but you can still do well even if you don't have prior experience. (I did it without experience in high school, still did well.) The mathematics is okay. Normal maths is definitely manageable even if 4U...

    B Commerce/Computer Science

It's a Science/Commerce degree :) If you look here, you can note that Computer Science & Engineering is one of the specialisations, whereas the Engineering/Commerce page doesn't have CS as a specialisation.

    Questions on co-op

I really couldn't say which you have a better chance for, sorry. :( As for the order of preference, I don't quite remember but - as is obvious - put down the one you want the most as first preference (probably not very helpful, sorry :P).

    Questions on co-op

You can do a double degree with co op. However, you need to start out with a single degree and get approval from your sponsor/s and the co op people after a year.

    Questions on co-op

I'm doing co op, hopefully I can help a bit. :) 1. In this year's application there are like eight big questions with around 800-1000 words limit each. Is this same as previous years? How many words should i actually write? Wow, that's different from my year when it was a bunch of little...

    Heh heh

What exactly is up with that?

Not sure, sorry. You'll get a definite answer (at least I assume so :P) if you email fy.MathsStats@unsw.edu.au. They reply pretty quickly.

What exactly is up with that?

It's the Talented Students tute for MATH1241 (at least it looks like MATH1241); you can only enrol in it by emailing the School of Mathematics/Statistics, you can't enrol in it yourself. Hence having a zero capacity, so no one can enrol in it themselves.

USyd vs. UNSW vs. UTS for Engineering.

Yeah, it's possible to apply for (UNSW) Co-Op in second/other years - however there are only spots available if new sponsors sign up (very rare afaik) or someone drops out (somewhat common). link to vacancies :)

USyd vs. UNSW vs. UTS for Engineering.

No, unless you get EAS points it's not possible to get Co-op with an ATAR under 96 unfortunately. :( Apply anyway though, you may be surprised! (Friend of mine anticipated a high 80s-low 90s ATAR, ended up with > 96 and got offered Co-op. Underestimated himself.)

    environmental engineer, help,

Yes, there's a bridging course for if you've done 2U mathematics and not 3U mathematics. :)

    Co-op Review

Hi there, I got accepted into Co-Op for Computer Science last year. Like brent012 said above, you can't do a double degree in Co-op. However, it *is* possible to do a double degree in later years - you have to get permission from sponsors and also your faculty to transfer into a double. (edit...

    COMP1917 Openlearning

No, it'll be fine. :) As long as you've dropped it on myUNSW then you don't need to worry about that.

    Co-op Scholarships

On UNSW Co-Op - Yeah, as deswa1 said you need a 96+ ATAR. They don't take into account bonus points from the HSC Plus scheme (I'm not sure about EAS though). As for smart it's hard to say - my fellow computer science scholars are definitely smart, but it's not that which solely got them in; they...
