bump anyone know about Computational Mathematics and whether it'll be useful?

It only says FINS2624 is a prereq for 3635 (options,futures+risk mgmt) and 3641 (security analysis + valuation), will that be enough assumed knowledge for me to do well (i.e. DN or HD) in those? or should I take 3616 (intl business finance) before I do those?

I highly recommend you first years join MATHSOC. It's pretty much FREE HOMEWORK AND STUDY HELP. MATHSOC isn't your typical math club that you see in American teen movies, we're more of a society consisting of students who study maths or have an interest in maths.

scif1131 looks like something new this year, and adv maths/science kids get to choose between scif1121/1131. read the outline for both courses and see which one appeals to you the most.

sorry, apparently in 2012 you can choose either one. i'm not sure what the differences are.

You don't have to do SCIF in first year but why wouldn't you? That's pretty much how you get to know everyone doing adv science/maths.

Those are the courses you do throughout this year. You have two sessions/semesters (like school terms) this year, and you usually do 4 at a time, that is why you only see 4 courses offered.
