I believe this is relevant to your the harmonic question.

Rate the difficulty of the Mathematics Extension 1 exam

My 2 unit friends said it was a lot less stressful than the 2 unit paper. I finished early and the exam was really strate forward.

    Question 14 Solutions

I totally agree with carrot. The paper was nothing extraordinary. Following extension 2, this was a cake walk. I finished maybe 30 minutes early and made a silly mistake in the very last question where I forgot to add the one. Super simple paper.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1

Very easy exam, looking at 68~69

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

well, half your marks are internal anyway. I think I am looking at a 70-80 raw, messed up in a few places.

    SOLUTIONS - Terry Lee

looking at a 70-80, maybe a bit over 80. With 14a, I split it into 3x^2+4/x(x^2+4) + 4/x(x^2+4). Im not sure if that was valid but I thought I got the answer in the exam.

    Q11

Re: General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2 Nope let u =e^x, comes to u/u^2+1

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

This, except I bummed out a few places in 12, 13 and 14 but I got most of 15 and 16.

    Q16

well the angle between two lines formula is an absolute value, so you have to justify it's removal by saying that the denominator was positive. So maybe lose a mark.

    Q16

The one where you had to do arrangements of the word holomorphic, where you had to have no vowels together.

    Q15

Re: General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2 I put my solutions to 16 here http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=293623 for 15 ai) simple expansion of the difference of two roots being greater than zero aii) (x-1)>=0 , y-x>=0 multiply and your done aiii) the left inequality is part...
  13. L

    Q16

ai) (M+N)!/M!N! aii) 13!/10!3! (as we put three dividers in amongst the 10 coins, thus creating 4 groups.) If Carrot hadn't put his holomorphic question on the BOS trial I would have gotten that wrong. bi) straight forward bii) required manipulation, I was stretched for time so I didn't finish...

    Section I - Multiple Choice

    I got 1 D 2 A (apparently wrong but i don't know) 3 A 4 A 5 C 6 A (wrong, im an idiot) 7 A 8 B 9 C 10 B http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=integrate%20x%5E3sin(x)%20from%20-pi%20to%20pi

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

Looking at 70-85/100 raw, probably higher once scaled as I owned the internal's. It was a good exam, I got 10/15 for 15 and 16 so pretty happy.

    How to approach study?

Yeah, I have been doing shit all. Not absorbing much information. Just doing questions and reading and understand solutions of stuff I can't do.
  17. L

    The 'derivative' of a sequence.

So you know the solution and it is above the 4 unit level?

Few days till exam, how should people be preparing?

I have been able to most of the ones in recent years, I am kinda scared about conics. Definitely my weak point, and some mechanics questions.

So the paper is on monday, how are people going about preparing? Past Papers, exercises etc?

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Not as good as paper 1 but not bad.
