    Section 1 - Stimulus

text 2 was like what am i reading so yeah. totally forgot enjambement existed though that would have been an easy technique otherwise text 1 was okay, text 3 was also quite okay. text 4 I had to read a little deeper because I almost got the wrong interpretation of it when I was about to do...

First day hsc. Left out creative. Im screwed arent i?

dunno who told you this but all sections of paper 1 and paper 2 get counted for your final mark

    Section 2 - Creative Writing

I had like 18 minutes to do the creative (did short answer then essay then creative) wrote like 3.5 page with quite huge writing (my handwriting is naturally somewhat big) I don't think my creative was good at all because I used stimulus 2 and only related to the pile of stuff on top of the...

    Section 3 - Extended Response

like trials, I spent one hour on this question LOL but I do dickinson and it fit well with my prepared response, only thing I took ages was because I couldn't remember my essay word for word on point (I finished my essay just yesterday, starting memorising at 9.10pm lol)

North Sydney Girls High School vs. Hornsby Girls High School

bias here but SGHS always had a strong english cohort (and this is for advanced and maybe the other two extensions)

North Sydney Girls High School vs. Hornsby Girls High School

hey :) it won't, in fact most of the people who came from non selective in my school in year 11 are doing fine I am not trying to burst your bubble, tbh you need to stop thinking about how hard it is to 'catch up'. I'm going to keep it real, everyone starts as equal in year 11, and in year 12...

    James Ruse Atar estimate!

umm she has been consistently performing excellently since primary until now, so there'd be no reason to doubt her WAM. she really does know how to study, and the same time regularly updates her blog. like I don't even do that lol

    Chemistry Versus Physics

um no impact on society does correlate to social & ethical issues, not just 'computers'. like the war of the currents aren't about computers. I would agree chemistry is more rote learnt than physics. Just look at trying to remember cation & anion testing, solubility rules, the solvay and...

James Ruse / SGS / NSBHS

ruse seems involved in school life (from my perspective they have a lot of student organised activities for the rest of the school) and people aren't too competitive. From what I see as an outsider, there's a lot of communication to people who aren't necessarily your good friends so it seems...

    To drop 11th unit?

have you got your trials results back? If you're in a selective, usually the standard is somewhat the hsc standard, so your mark isn't like too inflated as to what you'd be achieving in hsc with your current level. There's always room for improvement between now and the HSC, many people do study...

Is 13 units too much for the HSC?

Guys stop telling her to just extension history already. Do you even know what the subject is about? At my school, literally the beginning of year 12 to trials is just doing a major work, so just writing out a 2500 - 3000 word essay about a topic that relates to historiography, and the teacher...

How do you study for IPT? especially the final 3 hour HSC exam

all of above, past papers are a great way of consolidating info (notes only go so far)

when will the UTS Biomedical Engineering be accredited by Engineers Australia?

according to http://www.eng.uts.edu.au/courses/undergraduate/majors/biomedical.html they are still seeking approval with Engineers Australia, does anyone have a general idea when they would be approved e.g. next year or 2 years? Just curious because I'm interested to add it as one of my uni...

Has anyone gone to American Uni through applying from here?

not going to an American uni as undergrad, but I have researched it as I wanted to before, not now though If you really want to go, you have to be serious, as it is a bit costly to study there. If you want to go to Yale, Princeton, Ivy League (harvard, MIT and others) it is even harder to go...

USyd vs. UNSW vs. UTS for Engineering.

no not just teaching it's because you get year of work experience when you graduate at UTS. which means you can get work easily. UNSW only requires 60 days of work experience, and it is hard to get because they don't have industry connections like UTS do for work experience

    thoughts on subjects selection

they're fine, but your subjects are the more content heavy/essay type. that doesn't mean they're bad, it just means you need to write practice essays for them throughout the year as they're the essay type exams. not a problem if you enjoy them, and when you do enjoy them, you'll excel in them :)

    Subject Selection Advice:

chem is quite a lot of content if you have no interest in it. seriously, if you do it with no interest, you won't understand the concepts and then it will bite you back later in the year, especially in trials once you realise how 'screwed' you are because you haven't been paying attention...

Can the entire HSC course be crammed in 2 months?

definitely doable, you just gotta be determined

How many hours of sleep a night are you HSC students getting? Share your experience.

Re: How many hours of sleep a night are you HSC students getting? Share your experien i think you mean increased risks of heart problems/heart attacks and shortening your lifespan by a few years, if you keep up bad sleep for a while lol

Need some help with my decision

chemistry maths is nowhere near extension 1 or 2 maths lol, you're in year 10 so just wanted to let you know. it's just rearranging equations, ratios, using a calculator to add or divide, so doing year 10 maths, you should already be proficient in this to an extent. if not, keep practising
