imo, just put up with the pain and apply for bonus marks. I've never had one, but I'd imagine that writer helpers would make it extremely difficult to articulate your responses since you have to reiterate everything and frequently stop while he/she is writing :S.

Just try to do your absolute best Chris--you might surprise yourself when you get your marks back :) The externals can easily pull your internal marks up if you do well enough. So really, the externals are worth more than 50% :D I wonder if you know who I am xD
