Have questions about uni !! pls help

It's all done through the UAC website. Go onto it and click on the undergraduate link and you can choose the courses you want to apply for. It doesn't open until August though, and your school should tell you how to apply. If not, just ask your careers advisor.

    Assumed knowledge for hsc chem?

Like, all of it. From what I remember, Chemical Earth contains the majority of the concepts that you'll use in year 12.

How much money did you spend on yr12 formal?

You're right. Nobody should be allowed to have fun until we get rid of poverty.

    He calls me mum.

We have this kid in my group that everyone calls mum. Because we all get heaps messy at parties and do stupid stuff, but he doesn't, and he always tries to talk us out of doing stupid stuff, so we call him mum. But this guy does sound like he's taking it pretty far.

    Topics in HSC Exam

30% of the exam will be prelim. Maths is the only subject where prelim content is fair game for the HSC exam.

    Mechanics

But just remember that you've only had 2 lessons on mechanics. A lot of kids are in the same position as you. When my teacher taught me mechanics, I didn't have a clue what was going on, so I put heaps of effort into it after the trials. I ended up getting 14-15 of the 17 mechanics marks in the...

Is your 'best' subject your favourite subject? Why/why not?

Definitely. My best/favorite was maths. I absolutely despised all my other subjects.

    Mechanics

Just work on it and try to understand it. I think most people struggle with the concepts in mechanics at first, but once you work at it, it actually becomes one of the easier topics, and is just applying what you have learnt from other topics (eg. resisted motion is pretty much all 3/4U...

Help With Chem As A Subject

This is the thing that most people struggle with when they transition into senior years. You're expected to do a lot more outside study of the course to bring yourself up to the depth/quality of these exam questions. There is a lot of content to get through and if your teacher goes into the...

Petition - ATAR Should Not Affect University Options

This. In attempting to make science courses appealing to everyone by cutting out a lot of the maths, all they are really doing is disadvantaging those who intend to pursue science based courses at uni. You go from doing a paper that involves 15-20% calculations at year 10 level maths in the HSC...

Petition - ATAR Should Not Affect University Options

Lol. Dude ATAR isn't the be all and end all. There are alternate ways into everything. ATAR doesn't restrict you from pursuing your goals. But you also need to be realistic. If someone can't be bothered to study in high school and gets an ATAR of 50, do you really think they are gonna have any...

Will I have to repeat this year 11 course?? (Please read)

Yeah you will have to repeat if you fail it. You have to pass 12 units of year 11 to move onto year 12.
  14. panda15

    Is this true?

No. Trials are part of your internal assessment which makes up your ranks, so this can't happen.

    Electronic Dance Music

I don't know how you can have a thread like this and not post the Defqon anthem

The way the school year's been set out. I just don't get it.

Get used to it buddy. Life isn't always set out so it's the easiest for you.

    Chemistry

What do you actually need help with?

Which subjects would count to my atar

If it's purely based on the subject that won't count towards you ATAR, drop general maths. But if there's a subject that you hate, drop that instead. You're less likely to be able to consistently study for it throughout the HSC.
