I think atm UWS is 3rd on my preferences but I still received three early offers from them. I think it's just a general invitation, and you go around the time the faculty you're interested in is on. And yes, the academic excellence scholarship is automatic.

Possibly split your bank account into two separate accounts so you minimise how much you spend and you will always have savings when you need them then.

I was thinking probably the area of business analyst or something to do with finance eg. financial analyst. I really need to have a think about a career path i want to head into though..

I would be doing exactly the same as you, John0, majoring in economics and finance. It's tough as I know the unsw course seems to suit what I would want to do more and the uws course seems fairly rigid in terms of majors. But the chance to network and meet people in the industry is a huge plus...

You would have to get atleast 1 bonus point at UNSW with a 95 atar. I got 2 bonus points for band 5 adv. english, although I know you might not want to go there due to travel. I'll be coming from the same area as you would though and I understand it's quite a trek.

I got an email from UWS after I asked about the scholarship and they said scholarships are using given in around February.

So if I do this advanced degree do you think i'm on the same level as if I go to UNSW for Comm/Eco? or would it still have the negative connotations associated with UWS? I'm trying to decide whether the scholarship will be worth going to UWS for. Also the extra curriculars and industry...

I got exactly the same as this. And I saw someone earlier ask if what the bold says meant they got the marks required for the course, I think it is more just propaganda stating now we have ATARs we should be putting in our preferences for UNSW.

^^ That definitely made my day. I got a band 5 for english so I get 2 bonus points which takes me from 93.25 to 95.25, then I am quite sure I get the bonus point for school captaincy, so that should take me to 96.25 which makes me very very happy. Just a question, am I eligible for HSC Plus...

My school was high 400's and i got in the 90's, so don't doubt yourself. Just work really hard and it'll happen.
