syllabus and what they test us on?

There are usually unit outlines, but they are not at all like the HSC where you have dot points to cover. Its much more general.

    Tutorial changes?

    yes.

    MATH1014 vs MATH1002

What is the difference in difficulty of these two units? Just wondering, b/c they both have HSC mathematics as assumed knowledge, so do they both have a very similar syllabus?

    Should I buy textbooks??

I can't say much for semester 1, but for semester definately buy (when its closer to semester 2) the textbook for MATH1004. No need to purchase that now, obviously.

    Textbook question

Definitely wait. You may not even need a textbook that is supposedly 'mandatory'.

Exchange Application for Sem 2 2014

Maybe wait until first week of uni?

Need 3 more elective credit points?

Because math is awesome. I suppose summer school, or extending the length of your degree by a semester.

Need 3 more elective credit points?

    Why not? I'm doing that.
  9. A

    distance between classes?

I built my legs up quite a bit just walking at uni. Im not even joking.

    Can I do these electives??

Ah, sorry I assumed because you were doing second year math you were going to do it in third year maybe. Second year math is not easy from all indications. If PSYC units are science subjects, I can't see it being an issue.

    distance between classes?

Lectures should finish with about 5 mins to go, and start 5-10 minutes after the designated time, so if you're fast you could probably make it.
  12. A

Need 3 more elective credit points?

No, don't take more than 6cp of electives in 2nd semester, as your course probably wouldnt allow more than 24cp a semester anyway (like mine). What im saying is if you want to take MATH1004, at some point your going to be left with only 237cp (because you did a 3cp elective rather than a 6cp...

    Help ?

As embarrassing as it may be, just send a follow up email.
  14. A

Need 3 more elective credit points?

I don't think there is another 3cp subject available. You could keep MATH1004 or take another 6cp. If you choose to do MATH1004, then you will need to take an extra 6cp sometime in the future in order to make sure you have at least 240cp so you can be awarded the degree.

    Can I do these electives??

If you like maths, youd be better off maybe taking MATH2061. Or theres always STAT2011 if your interested in stats i guess. Anyway, MATH2061 and MATH2065 (second semester) would allow you to do some third year maths units. But if you want to do discrete math, then take it and live with the clash?

    Engineering Timetable

Normal level maths units could be manageable for someone with only 2u mathematics if they are willing to work.

    Textbook question

Wait until the first week. The lecturer will say if you need to buy anything or not. Readers are basically like notes that you buy from the university copy centre, i think.
  18. A

    Can I do these electives??

Just out of interest, why did you want to take MATH2069? Purely interest? Im sorry, just an unusual unit to take in combination with PSYC and USSC units.
  19. A

    Cant view the Timetable!!!

No they became available to view again today.
