Despite being top 10 and yourself suggesting that you will get band 6's, no I do not think you will get an 85+. Sorry mate, work harder, It will be impossible to get 85+ for you at this rate. Your friend on the other hand will easily get 80+ and has a high chance of smashing your ATAR.

If they were between 70-77 last year theres a pretty good chance they won't move at all.. With a 70-77 ranking I'd assume they have an average demand. If they do move they're not likely to move by 17 or 10 points so with an 87 you'll be fine.

I think he should be fine for General Maths. Our school boasts a percentage of 50+ of General Maths students achieving band 5/6.
