    Questions on UMAT

My bad everybody. Basically if you do no prep you're incredibly fucked, unless you are very lucky/good at guessing. But if you want med so badly, why wouldn't you prepare?

    Questions on UMAT

I have a mate who only did medentry and was consistently getting only 70% on the practice exams. He kinda winged the UMAT exam and got 99% overall! Alas, I was also like you. Worried about UMAT, getting into medicine *sigh* You're only alternative for a shit UMAT is either going to JCU...

Is anyone genuinely enjoying what they're doing at Uni?

I turned down Commerce at UNSW to move interstate to study medicine. JCU is incredible and they propel us into weekly clinical skills sessions super early and continue this for the duration of the course. It's an amazing change from all the science based course content and is integrated...

Centrelink. You get paid way more if you move out of home so it's very manageable.

    Studies of religion Question

A DYNAMIC religion question is referring to how the religion is TODAY and how it affects DAILY LIVING! Sure you can talk about the past, add some quotes and what not. But always tie it into what the religions do today! For example with Christianity, say that many people incorporate...

    Help with atar

Make sure you consider your options if you want to do Medicine really bad. This includes getting a high ATAR, sitting the UMAT and applying to every interstate university. Don't let all your hopes ride on either UNSW or UWS medicine! Combined they only give out about 400-500 places each year...

    Lying about atar to parents?

"Mum, Dad, I got an asterix. That means an ATAR of less than 30" *Wait one week and let your parents absolutely lose their shit* "Mum, Dad, I was just fucking with you. I actually got an ATAR of 71.45" *Your parents will embrace you, hug you and tell you that they are so proud*

Can i still get an ATAR of 90?

Marks don't mean shit. It's all about your rank. Doesn't matter if you got 50% in english if you're ranked like 5/100 kids that's still good. What matters is the highest mark in the actual HSC exam and your personal mark. Work hard and you'll be fine.

    Cramming success stories?

Didn't make ANY notes for chemistry during the HSC. Only did like 2-3 past papers before each block of exams for chemistry, nothing else. Maybe frantically flicking through my Conquering Chem book but that's it. Come the actual HSC exam, BOOM! 82 examination mark. Couldn't be happier! Fuck...

    Stressed

Just a rough guess English: 79 Ancient: 80 History Ext: 33 Legal:80 Society & Culture: 80 SOR1: 40 Basically if you can get mostly high 70's/ early 80's you'll definitely get a 75. Also, to put things into perspective: One of my friends got all low/mid 70's and got an ATAR of 63.
  14. louielouiee

    Stressed

Yeah at university absolutely nobody gives a crap about your ATAR. I've only had one person ask me in the past 6 weeks. It's honestly the last thing people would talk about. I'd rather have an intense discussion about the weather from the previous week as opposed to discussing my HSC. If you...

    Stressed

Well, I didn't mean that specifically! Any form of exercise makes you feel refreshed, even walking, would do just fine.

    Stressed

Maybe start doing some exercise? I'd always go for 30min sprints. It really clears your mind, makes you relaxed and lets you release all that crappy tension/stress.
