    UNSW or USYD for Science?

I did a few posters and two literature reviews during the whole degree.

    UNSW or USYD for Science?

It's very diffcult to answer that question because not many students have attended undergraduate study in the same scientific area at both university. Even then it is difficult to tell you whether the quality of teaching in ONE area of science (e.g. chemistry) is consistent with all other areas...

UNSW - How much to pay to get in?

Just curious, why will there be no DFEE places next year? I thought that's how uni gets money?

    Purechem or Biochem?

You can do both in second year. There are only two Biochem subjects on offer in 2nd year. So you can pick both of these (BIOC2XXX) and also enrol yourself in a range of other CHEMXXXX courses. Your chosen major at this stage (pick either Biochem or Chem for the moment) can be changed again in...

    Careers in research??

Most post-doctoral research jobs pay quite decently with a starting salary of 60K+. I don't know where you got your information from.

Medical Science at UNSW or USyd?

Yes, I share your view that SCIF is the most useless and most expensive (Band 3 HECS) course in the entire degree.

Medical Science at UNSW or USyd?

Yes that's correct. Physics is not compulsory at UNSW MedSc, which is one of the reason I came to UNSW. I would never pick physics as an elective.

Medical Science at UNSW or USyd?

Everyone beats me to it. I basically chose UNSW because of the nice campus. UNSW and Usyd both have excellent reputation. The choice of courses are extremely similar so you could specialise in all areas of medical science at both uni. It's a personal choice really. You might be interested in...

    Careers in research??

Medical students don't really learn much real science. :D I suggest a generic Science, Adv Science or Medical science degree. You will end up learning a lot more science (as expected), which is very important for research and application of ideas in research.

Nope. That's not true. There's no such thing as "unfair-advantage marks" in ESL.

    Medical Science?

Hi jessi90. There are approximately 180 newly-enrolled MedSc students each year.

    Medical Science?

That's unfortunately. :( Why was this bad? I thought it would be a good career move for those who likes a commerce-type job with an interest in science. Although the company does put a lot of pressure on sales rep because there is so much competition from other companies.

UNSW Med Sci 08: ROLL CALL!

Normally you need to have done HSC Biology and score 75+ in BABS1201/BIOS1201 to get approval to enrol in BIOS2021/2621. However, I'm sure if you've topped BABS1201/BIOS1201 or scored a HD average they would be happy to enrol you in BIOS2021/2621.

Unfortunately you are never going to get a decent response, so why bother asking? There is no method to rank medical courses.

Which uni should I do science at?

I don't normally take much note of those kind of rankings because they are inconsistent. 1) Different league tables use different criteria and produces inconsistent results - how can one uni rank say 20 in one ranking and 300 in another? 2) Those rankings look at an overall picture of the...

Which uni should I do science at?

Since you want to get into research, I think you should go to a university that has very good chemistry or medical research laboratories. A good research project is very important in determining your Honours class, chances of getting into PhD, and scholarship application.
