They asked for you to suggest the extent to which your texts agreed with the question ("How accurately does this statement reflect the ideas presented...") Your response should be fine as long as you said that your texts didn't reflect the choice part of the question significantly.

Like Mutant Kitty said above, the results won't even have been released by the time the official early round offers are sent. Therefore, it won't matter whether you do well in the exam or not. The only condition to "satisfactorily" complete the HSC is to actual sit the exams.

I actually didn't find text 4 that challenging. I used it in the last question as well though...and I don't think I answered the land question very well haha.

I didn't find section one to be that challenging. My class did...which leads me to believe that I misinterpreted the question or the texts... Section 2 I had to make up my story on the spot. It was extremely corny. Section 3 I nearly finished (I was halfway through the conclusion). All in all...
