Your profile indicates you've done the HSC in 2008 Are you repeating year 11?

I'd say take a trial with the private tutor and if you feel that you can learn the same content and it is just as challenging then go for him, I mean it's cheaper and more flexible so why not? However of after the trial you don't like him simply stay with your current tutoring arrangement :)
