    Your Plans for the Future?

My current savings are going towards an exchange next year for a semester. I will finish my degree (including honors year) and then try and find a job in the industry and try and save up as much as I can (I try and save while at uni too after my exchange). I may go and do the working...

    Bob Carr Quits

Hmmm yes it will be interesting what this does for the Labor party in NSW. Refshauge is the only one with a high enough profile I reckon.... maybe Scully.... and everyone hates Sartor. Well at least everyone I know. Anyone that lives in Redfern Waterloo anyway.

Shooting Brazillian man was a "mistake"

The eight times thing to me does matter.... it says something about the mentality of the person who shot him.... either they are twisted/not right in the head or were driven by extreme fear and/or hatred. You can shoot to kill without pulling the trigger eight times.

Shooting Brazillian man was a "mistake"

NTB, I understand that we have the benefit of heinsight now, knowing he was innocent, but I held fairly similar opinions to this before the news of his innocence came out, and when it came out it validated my earlier opinion more so. "Random chase and kill"... yes it may be a bit over the...

Genetics a large factor in influencing intelligence?

I agree with Xayma, that even if people are genetically predisposed to be intelligent there are other factors involved which will decide whether they will reach their potential.... like motivation, the conditions they grow up in, etc. I think it would be bad to decide how smart people are based...

Shooting Brazillian man was a "mistake"

He ran from plain clothed officers... I would probably run too if someone was brandishing a gun at me, unless they clearly identified themselves as police and showed their badges. Geeze he could have even just been running late for his train, oblivious to whatever was going on behind him. I...

meeting people who have been screwed over by lawyers

My friend who does journo/law was doing an assignment and rang up to interview someone from the legal rights centre and at the end of the interview when he said his name it turned out he was some murderer who was in her criminal law text book.... apparently they wanted to make a special law to...

    E-Sweatshops

I agree... funny but very sad. Interesting in one way at the same time... the online realm seems to have created basically new societies, or alternate realities... but these realities are intrinsically tied to the "real" world and their users know they are fantasy but chose to act as citizens...

    Market Research - Interviewers

It's probably cold calling... my flatmate did something like that, I think the company was AMR. She said there were some good things about it, like flexible hours etc, but it could be really boring and people could be really rude. She had to survey people about banks and stuff I think.

    "lift off!"

One TV channel should have a day where they show an episode from classic shows from our childhood.... like an 80s kids show day and a 90s kids show day.... you could gather round with all your mates and reminisce. Ahhh memories. Lift Off would be even more interesting after a bottle of passion...

Another Explosion in the London Underground

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1533368,00.html Nothing has really been confirmed yet.... they are just calling them "incidents" at this stage... I also reckon it's a copycat attempt.

    The Amazing Race 7

Awww the oldies are gone. Still they did a damn fine job. I'm so peeved Ramber and Ron and Kelly are back in the top two positions. Why do Ramber always seem to have the knack of finding helpful locals? Grrr.... I hope Uchenna and Joyce win... it could go to anyone at this stage.

Under the Shadows of Terrorism:, The Futility of Stoicism

Interesting article.... I agree with the author that we can't continue to fight terror with terror, and the cultural imperialism that the west continues to propagate (our way of life is right, our culture is better... blah blah) only adds to the problem. It creates greater resentment, and...
