i actually think he has raised awareness of the increasing conservatism of the government since they took conrtol of the senate.
it's just that it's 'cool' not to like him.

i don't understand why everyone hates Beazley!
he actually came very close to winning government in 2001, and if it hadn't have been for the asylum seekers/christmas island debacle whereby support for howard was galvanized...
