    Angels and Demons

lol it gets boring later on in the middle when they explain a bunch of crap, but later on its so fast paced and really intersting! its written a lot like Da Vinci Code, but personally its more thriller ish than Da vinci code. Everybody should try out these books. They are a great read.

wow thats awesome. Id be so happy if i could get a high distinction or prize. I got distinction last year and the year before. as someone said before, you cant study for these tests. The questions tackle at your problem solving ability. Though, some schools offer past papers and they help a lot...

    Cramming

cramming works for me :D cramming usually works for most people because cramming usually occurs on last minute of an exam and that puts stress on you to do well, so you usually naturally memorise everything....whearas if you study early, most people dont bother to memorise the stuff

    Exams or assignments

Exams are better. They are more fun :) Assignments can be pretty boring but they give you less stress Exams Pro - more fun - you can just cram - satisfaction received after exam is finished - exams seem 'bigger' in the eyes of parents - waste time during school doing exams - very fun when you...

Macbeth: the play/do you like it/extended response questions

lol Manly doesn't perform as low as Sefton. Manly came 20 ish and sefton came 50 ish. Not to mention, SEfton came behind 100 government schools in English. Sefton only does well in Maths. TRue. You would expect people in selective school to do better. I mean, people in selective schools are...

Just out of curiosity, how many of you think coaching actually helps you improve or do well in your studies? Me? I think that it works for some people and not others. There are some people I know that have went ever since kindergarten every week until year 12 and they still didn't get a good...

lol Mr Tishler is the deputy principal at Macquarie Fields High where I used to go. He's a really scary guy. He yelled at me when I told him I was leaving the school. He's really strict and stuff as well but apparantely, he is a really good english teacher. Ms Diab is an English teacher of my...

To all those thinking of changing schools next year!

Apparantely, you can't do accelerated maths if you change schools because the new schools dont know your ability yet compared to the other students. Even in year 11, they may not let you choose 3 unit math  because they dont know whether you will raank high enough in THEIR OWN school to...

I hate english to hell. English is sooo hard and my worst subject ever! 13/15? thats pretty good and you go to Manly High School, so you should be way better than me. I go to Sefton High and I get 7/15 for English. I just hope Id do better in this Macbeth essay coming up which I have no idea...

Macbeth: the play/do you like it/extended response questions

Hello. Hey I was just wondering if anybody else is doing Macbeth (year 10) for English. Heaps of my friends from other schools are doing it as well. Apprantely, most schools are using Macbeth for their half yearly exam and that's what most extended responses will be based on. Did anybody enjoy...

    On the Jellicoe Road

Its a really good book!!! it seems confusing in the begginign but thats what makes you want to keep reading. In the end, you'll get the whole story. There is a lot of development in characters, mystery and plot development in this book. Probably one of Melina Marchetta's best :)

    The Obernewtyn Chronicles

They are good when you think back to reading them but during when you read them is a pain for some reason. Her style of writing is annoying at times. Baby like vocabulary and undescriptive settings annoy me at times, but overall a good read :)

    Pressure from parents

yeh. that's true. Year 10 will probably be the last time I ever get to enjoy my life! after that, it'll be study, study, study and after that, I'll be at work and I'll grow older and older and retire.

    Pressure from parents

lol parents are so annoying!!! wow. you're so lucky :p Asian parents care a lot about work. They think its the end of the world if they know you are falling behind in class or just get below average. I felt that my 90% was okay!!!! it wasn't even below average!!! well, i didn't try my...

    Pressure from parents

Does anybody receive pressure from parents to do well in their studies? :( I mean, we are only in Year 10. :( Last time, I was stressing out on English Major Work and I told my mum that I didn't like English and that I think I'm failing. Just at the same moment, my math results came back...
