    World's Best City 2004

Or go to UTS and live in student housing ;) I love the city at night... it just buzzes and glows... I love being near the water, especially at night, the lights bounce off the water it's so cool.... and I love Sydney's beaches because I had only been to the beach a handful of times before...

    Getting Published

I really like my course and I have already gotten something published (we do get opportunities), however I want more stuff to get published lol. I go home to Albury in uni hols usually so I suppose I could do some work exp at the local paper when I am home, but the local paper isn't all that...

help.. I don't know what to choose

As someone else said, if you end up regretting your decision to do viscomm, do postgrad law.... As for your parent's friend, she is in the smallest minority of lawyers!!! Most of them are unemployed!!!

    Fahrenheit 911

Who has seen it? I saw it today. What did u all think? I thought it was good... better than Moore's books, and a bit different in style to Bowling for Columbine. It was confronting and even though you have to take what Moore says with a grain of salt because he really only offers one side...

Thanks Loz. I'm going to start looking for work experience but it can be hard fitting it around uni/work when your work has a really unreliable roster....

anyone works in Manly, Warringah Mall , Deewhy or French Forst

The best way to find casual work is to use your feet. Make a nice resume that doesn't contain too much information. Get a fair few copies of it. Get your walking shoes on and walk everywhere you would be willing to work. Ask them if they have any positions available. If they say no, ask if...

    working hours?

Perhaps the employer was confused because international students on a study visa can only work 20 hours per week. Aussies can work as much as they please.

    Getting Published

Has anyone got any ideas of mags/papers etc where students could get their work published? I wanna write some stories but I am unsure where to submit them. Does anyone read any publications that give details on how to get published etc.... I'm after anything!

help.. I don't know what to choose

I wouldn't worry too much if you end up doing it at uws... I think it would be the kind of industry where your talent rather than the place you went to uni would count when you were looking for jobs etc. The whole uni prestige thing is kinda overrated. Especially for some career paths...

help.. I don't know what to choose

Rule one: follow your heart. if you are in a field you are passionate about you will succeed. Why don't you do straight vis comm at UTS, then transfer in to it with int std? It's pretty easy to get a transfer into int std at UTS once you are already studying a course there. Also, don't...

    A Few Questions

    1. How could you get a job at a cinema (Hoyts, Greater Union, etc)... do you have to appy directly at the cinema, wait for a job to be advertised, or what? 2. Australian job search sites... i've been to seek, careerone... are there any other good ones? 3. Anyone seen any good jobs...

    Coles Myer Group Interviews

So how did everyone go? Mine was pretty breezy... do they ask everyone the same questions? Our two questions were about a hotel room booking and selling more confectionary lol. How long does it take before you at least get an email saying how you did? Any ideas?

    Utes, BnS and Country Stuff

I love both the city and the country for different reasons.... country air is so much fresher and you feel more at ease in the country I reckon. But the city has excitement/more people. I don't live on a farm but I have a few friends that do. Whenever I go out to a farm with my friends we...

    After school 'fat classes'

Well I would disagree that there are huge percentages of overweight people... I'm from the country, and I'm overweight, and growing up and even now looking around the town where I live there aren't many fat kids at all. maybe there are in the western suburbs of Sydney or something, I have no...

    Coles Myer Group Interviews

That's weird, because I got in the top 2% and got an interview... perhaps their answers to the weird career part of it that doesn't have a mark weren't what they were looking for or something... that part was so weird and annoying... stuff like would you rather be a carpenter or a gardener lol...

    World's Best City 2004

You guys don't appreciate what you have in Sydney... beautiful beaches, landmarks, a city, lots of shops, you actually have a public transport system, and you have tons of water compared to us country people.... maybe that's why you don't see Sydney as being that good, because you haven't lived...
